Tarigami demands all-party meet on IIOJK disempowerment

Jammu: Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA M Y Tarigami has called for an all-party meeting to discuss the “disempowerment” of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and seek restoration of statehood, saying it’s a test of Indian democracy.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Tarigami urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to convene the meeting. He criticized the weakening of the Assembly and the territory’s disempowerment, despite a “historic” mandate.
He ridiculed the Modi regime’s “Jammu and Kashmir integral part” mantra questioning “If J&K is an integral part, restore democracy here too”.
Tarigami expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation, stating that individuals are harassed based on minor allegations, and called for an end to profiling of mosques and Imams.
The CPI-M leader also raised issues like inadequate disaster relief, reservation, and demolition drives, emphasizing the need for lawful actions.
