BJP MLA caught red-handed while taking bribe in Karnataka
Bengaluru: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chandralmani was caught red-handed while taking bribe in the Indian state of Karnataka.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the MLA was found taking bribe in Lakshmipur area of Gadag district of the state.
The arrest of the MLA from Sher Aththi constituency is being considered a big blow for the BJP.
Chandralmani was caught while taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a contractor, while his official personal assistant Manjunath and personal servant Girlmani were also taken into custody.
In this regard, an official statement said that Chandralmani had demanded Rs 11 lakh from the contractor Vijay Poojar in connection with the allocation of a contract under the Irrigation Department.
In this regard, the police took successful action and arrested the BJP leader while taking the first installment of the total amount of Rs 5 lakh.
