Health employees stage protest against anti-people policies in IIOJK

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, employees of the National Health Mission (NHM) have launched a 48-hour sit-in in Srinagar, today, to press for their long-pending demands.
According to Kashmir Media Service, scores of NHM employees held a protest demonstration and began a two-day sit-in, demanding immediate pay revision, a secure job policy, and implementation of social security benefits. The protesting employees said that despite repeated assurances, no tangible progress has been made, forcing them to take to the streets.
The employees stated that they have been at the forefront of healthcare delivery, particularly during emergencies, yet continue to face uncertainty regarding wages and job security. They termed the authorities’ attitude as discriminatory and neglectful, saying their essential services are not being matched with fair compensation and basic rights.
The protesters warned that if their demands are not addressed, they may be compelled to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
