Renowned writer, translator Abdul Rauf Fazli passes away in IIOJK

Srinagar: Renowned Kashmiri writer and translator Abdul Rauf Fazli passed away in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today after a brief illness. He was known by his pen name “Ibn Qadeer”.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased originally belonged to Bandipora. He authored several books and translated several books. He also served as Deputy Conservator in the Forest Department and was remembered for his honesty. The deceased is survived by his wife, son Abdul Rafay and a daughter.
The funeral prayer of the deceased was offered at Masjid Anjum in Qamarwari area of Srinagar which was led by All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The relatives and friends of the deceased, the Grand Mufti of the occupied territory Nasir-ul-Islam and a large number of people from different walks of life attended the funeral prayer.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Abdul Rauf Fazli and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. He said that Abdul Rauf Fazli achieved a position and status due to his professional integrity and literary services.
He said that the deceased had a deep attachment to the thoughts and philosophy of the poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq termed his death a great loss to the literary and intellectual circles of Kashmir and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
