Eid prayers to be offered at 9:30am at Eidgah in Srinagar: Anjuman Aaqaf Jamia Masjid
Mirwaiz visits Eidgah, reviews arrangements
Srinagar: A meeting of the board of directors of Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was held under the chairmanship of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting reviewed the arrangements and preparations for the Eid prayers on Wednesday, May 27.
The meeting discussed various issues related to the peaceful and orderly conduct of Eid prayers and related religious events and gatherings.
The meeting decided that Eid-ul-Adha prayers will be offered at 9:30am in the historic Eidgah, Srinagar, according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).
Before the Eid prayers, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver a special address at 8:30am on Eid-ul-Adha and the philosophy of sacrifice, its spirit and importance, in which the spirit of obedience to Allah, selflessness, compassion and sacrifice for the sake of Allah Almighty will be highlighted.
During the meeting, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq directed the Auqaf staff to maintain contact with the Waqf Board and the civil administration regarding the necessary arrangements at the Eidgah in Srinagar so that the Eid prayers can be offered smoothly and without any hindrance.
The Auqaf Association has expressed the hope that the occupying authorities will not create any obstacles in the offering of Eid prayers at the Srinagar Eidgah this time.
However, the association expressed regret that unfortunately the occupation administration does not allow Eid prayers to be offered in the Eidgah and Jamia Masjid, which is tantamount to a serious hurt to the religious sentiments of the Kashmiri people and an open interference in their religious rights and freedom.
The association expressed hope that the occupation administration will not adopt such an attitude this time and Eid prayers will be allowed to be offered in the Eidgah without any ambiguity.
