JKSDMI will launch special activities across UK from Jan 22 to Feb 11
Islamabad: The team of Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI), under the leadership of its Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain will launch special activities across the United Kingdom from January 22 to February 11, 2024 to highlight the Kashmir dispute at world level.
The JKSDMI in a statement issued in Islamabad said India’s Republic Day, January 26, will be marked as Black Day in Oldham. Similarly, it said, on February 4, a function in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day will be held at the Pakistani Community Center in Manchester. A conference will also be held.
It said on February 5, events will be held in collaboration with the Pakistani Consulate and other organizations in Bradford. With the support of Conservative Friends of Kashmir and other parliamentarians, it said, an event will be held at the House of Commons in London on Tuesday, February 6.
The JKSDMI said a ceremony will be held on February 9 in Birmingham to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Muhammad Afzal Guru. A media conference will be held in Stoke-on-Trent with the support of Lord Mayor of Stoke Councilor Majid Khan.
It said the JKSDMI team will coordinate the activities of youth groups and women’s organizations in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir during the said period and it will be led by Mohammad Azam, Secretary General of JKSDMI, Councillor Naila Sharif, Chairperson of JKSDMI, UK, Dr Raja Sajid Mehmood, Country Coordinator of JKSDMI, Kanwal Hayat Kashmiri Women Coordinator JKSDMIP and others.
It said Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi, Chairman of Scholars Youth Forum, Azad Kashmir, and Muhammad Shehzad Khan, President of Youth Council Pakistan, and political leaders and organizations will play their role in highlighting the Kashmir dispute at the global level.
The JKSDMI said various events and meetings will be organized to find an immediate and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions.
