Abduction, subsequent killing of youth in custody trigger protests in Rajouri

Jammu : A protest demonstration was held in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the abduction of a youth and his subsequent killing in custody, believed to be perpetrated by Indian army soldiers, engaged in military operations in the district for the past many days.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters including the relatives and family members of the victim staged the protest at Kotranka area of the district. The protesters demanded justice for the aggrieved family.

The protesters said that the victim who was abducted three days ago was found murdered in Kotranka area. Police have failed to take any action against the mighty culprits of Indian army soldiers.

It’s pertinent to mention here that a few days ago, a missing report of the youth was registered at Kandi Police Station and later his dead body was found.

The family told that he was murdered after abduction.

Today, the family members of the deceased protested along with locals and demanded a fair investigation into his abduction and killing. Locals threatened to launch massive agitation if police failed to conduct a proper enquiry into the matter.

It is worth mentioning here that Indian army soldiers on December 22, last year, abducted 13 innocent Kashmiris in twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri districts. Three of them were tortured to death in the army’s custody, while 10 others were shifted to hospitals half-dead after strong protests in the two districts.

It is believed that the above mentioned youth was also abducted by the Indian army and was subsequently tortured to death in the custody.
