IIOJK continues to witness checking, patrolling and strict surveillance
Srinagar: Indian authorities have continued to impose heavy restrictions in terms of checking, frisking, surveillance and patrolling in occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the name of security ahead of India’s Republic Day on January 26.
According to Kashmir Media Service, troops have additionally been deployed in Srinagar and surrounding localities to monitor key areas, especially the venues for the main Republic Day function in Srinagar and Jammu cities.
More checkpoints have been set up at key entry points, and the personnel of Indian army, police and paramilitary forces are equipped to handle any contingencies.
Technological advancements are being utilised to enhance surveillance capabilities. CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor public places with huge makeshift bunkers set up and bulletproof armed vehicles deployed everywhere to monitor the daily life of the Kashmiris
