Kashmir Solidarity Day reflects profound ties between Pakistanis, Kashmiris: AJK President
Islamabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, highlighted that “Kashmir Solidarity Day” is the recognition of the profound ties between Pakistanis and Kashmiris, celebrated in a spirited manner every year on February 5.
Barrister Sultan, in his message on the occasion of “Kashmir Solidarity Day,” expressed that this day signifies the religious, cultural, and social harmony between Pakistanis and Kashmiris. He strongly condemned the severe human rights violations perpetrated by Indian occupation forces in occupied Kashmir, urging the international community to take notice and play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
The AJK President stated that Indian atrocities have failed to suppress the Kashmiri people’s spirit for freedom, and they remain steadfast with courage and determination. He clarified that the resolution of the Kashmir issue lies in negotiations, demonstrating seriousness, and adhering to the UN mandate. He emphasized that the acceptable solution for the Kashmiri people would align with their aspirations and the UN resolutions.
President Azad Jammu and Kashmir concluded by addressing India directly, stating that New Delhi should not create obstacles in the fundamental right of self-determination for Kashmiris. Instead, he urged India to demonstrate seriousness by resolving the Kashmir issue through talks, adhering to the spirit of international agreements.
