Congress leader resents chant of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ by BJP activists

New Delhi: The leader of the Indian National Conference, Gorugogoi, has expressed resentment and hatred towards the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” by activists of the Hindutva inspired Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gorugogoi stated in a statement that the BJP should abandon the tradition of worshiping Gandhi’s assassin, Nathuram Godse. He said that at present, marginalized communities and minorities are unhappy, with crimes against scheduled castes increasing. Marginalized communities are demanding a caste-based census because they feel excluded from education in universities and government jobs, and are facing discriminatory attitudes.

He said that the BJP’s arrogance is preventing it from addressing inflation and the threefold non-fulfillment of minorities and violence. The Congress leader further said that if you shoot at others or desecrate places of worship of other religions, you cannot be a worshiper of Ram.
