BJP worker killed in Chhattisgarh: Seventh attack in Maoist-hit region in two months
Chhattisgarh: In a disturbing trend of violence against political workers in Maoist-affected areas, another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member fell victim to a deadly attack in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, this incident underscores the escalating tensions and the dangers faced by political figures in the region.
On a seemingly peaceful evening at Toynar village, amidst the joyous celebrations of a wedding, violence struck unexpectedly. Tirupati Katla, a BJP member serving on the Janpad Panchayat, was ambushed and brutally attacked with sharp-edged weapons as he departed from the festivities.
Over the past year, suspected Naxalites have intensified their campaign against political figures associated with the ruling party, claiming the lives of seven BJP leaders or members. Each attack sends shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the safety of those who serve in Maoist-affected areas. The motives behind these targeted killings remain a subject of intense scrutiny, with investigations ongoing to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
