BJP regime prevents Eid prayers in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid
Srinagar: While Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with all religious freedom, the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir were prohibited from offering Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces are continuing to enforce strict military and police siege, along with violent cordon and search operations, across the territory on this Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
The Hindutva BJP regime have imposed stringent restrictions by deploying Indian troops and police personnel throughout the territory to suppress demands for the political right to self-determination.
The BJP regime and Indian establishment prohibited Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid and Eidgah in Srinagar. Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house detention and prevented from leading Eid prayers at the Jamia Masjid.
Meanwhile, thousands, including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Mushtaqul Islam, Bilal Siddiqi, Maulvi Bashir Ahmed, Dr. Hameed Fayaz, and others, languish in Indian and IIOJK jails.
