APHC felicitates Gilani over his election of Chairman Senate
Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) AJK Chapter congratulated Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on his election as Chairman Senate.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a letter written by Convener APHC Mehmood Ahmed Saghar to newly elected Chairman Senate, the Hurriyat leadership stated, “On behalf of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the APHC wish to extend heartfelt felicitations to you on your election as chairman senate of Pakistan.
Your appointment to this responsible position reaffirms your high political reputation, as well as the broad support for your party’s policy of political reconciliation, which seeks to effectively deal with the social and economic challenges facing Pakistan” the Hurriyat leadership added.
They also added, “We hope that under your dynamic leadership Pakistan will continue to prosper and reach new heights of success.
”
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Pakistan for its all-out support to our freedom struggle. The Pakistani nation has always stood with us through every thick and thin despite facing daunting internal and external challenges, Convener said in the letter.
The letter also reads that in the wake of the Modi led fascist regime’s illegal annexation of the IIOJK the role and responsibilities of Pakistan has increased manifold. Let’s remind you that essential fundamental freedoms in Kashmir still remain largely suspended since the BJP government stripped the region of its special status, in 2019.
We hope that Pakistan, being an important party to the dispute, will continue to pursue the global community to seek an early and amicable settlement of the lingering dispute that has consumed three generations of Kashmiris and continues to threaten the existence of yet another generation, the APHC letter also reads.
World is remorselessly watching the dire situation in the region, we are optimistic that you will use your good office in protecting the rights of Kashmiris who are reeling under the yoke of Indian imperialism, the APHC leadership maintained.
