Selective outrage over killing of women is weaponized by BJP to spread anti-Muslim hatred in India’
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Indian government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Hindutva ecosystem are systematically brainwashing and misleading the majority community to secure political benefits, several recent videos of popular Indian YouTuber Dhruv Rathee have said.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the videos of Rathee, who has 18.8 million subscribers, get millions of views on his YouTube channel. Apart from YouTube, these videos have been watched millions of times on other social media platforms.
The latest Rathee video of around 30 minutes shows how selective outrage over the killing of women by their partners is weaponised by BJP supporters to spread hatred toward Muslims.
In the video titled “Reality of Mera Abdul|The Hindu Muslim Brainwash Agenda,” the YouTuber pointed out that if a Muslim man is accused of killing a Hindu woman, the incident is highlighted to suggest that all Muslims are brutal and indulge in immoral things. However, when a Hindu man is accused of killing a Muslim woman or Hindu woman, these incidents are not highlighted to portray all Hindu men similarly.
Rathee offered several examples of selective outrage by the BJP supporters.
Rathee also said that it is far-fetched that the BJP supporters will demand justice for women from other communities. They don’t demand justice for even Hindu women when the culprit has connections with the BJP leaders.
Rathee also noted that Muslim organisations issued statements to condemn the incident when there was an outrage against the killing of a woman by a Muslim. However, this information was not shared by BJP supporters on social media.
“Their intentions are only to brainwash you. They want to instill fear in your hearts so that you are scared of Muslims and you vote for Modi out of fear,” asserted Rathee.
Earlier, Rathee made a video to show how millions of Indians are brainwashed through WhatsApp messages forwarded by the BJP’s IT cell. Rathee argued that a WhatsApp mafia is being run from behind the scene to proselytise the general people.
