Mirwaiz expresses grief over devastation caused by incessant rains in IIOJK
Srinagar: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has voiced deep concern regarding the flood situation prompted by relentless rains badly affecting many areas in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq lamented the tragic loss of lives and property, including the demise of five tourists and disappearance of numerous individuals across the territory, and a child’s drowning in Sopore.
He also highlighted the extensive flooding of numerous villages throughout northern Kashmir, the displacement of thousands, and significant damage to fruit crops in southern Kashmir due to the catastrophic weather conditions. He added that the wider Chenab area had also been badly affected by the fierce rains.
In these challenging times, the Mirwaiz emphasized the critical need for showing solidarity with the affected people, particularly urging the affluent to step forward and assist in the rehabilitation efforts for those affected.
He extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families who have suffered from these tragic events, affirming that the Kashmiri community profoundly shares the sorrow of the bereaved families. KMS-26S
