OIC affirms support to IIOJK people’s self-determination right
Banjul, Gambia: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has affirmed its commitment to the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) supporting their legitimate right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Secretary General of the organization Hissein Brahim Taha presented his report at the 15th summit meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Banjul, Gambia, and emphasized on the resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiris.
Referring to the efforts of the OIC to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute, he said that OIC Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir Yusuf Muhammad Al-Dubay visited Azad Kashmir last year and during this visit, he held meetings with the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He also visited the Kashmiri refugee camps to review the ground situation.
He said that on February 5, 2024, Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Pakistan. The Secretary General in the OIC Secretariat also participated in a photo exhibition related to Kashmir.
In his address on this occasion, reiterating his support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, he said that OIC is ready to work with all parties for the solution of the Kashmir dispute and Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
