Indian troops continue cordon and search operations in IIOJK
Srinagar: Indian troops continued their violent cordon and search operations (CASOs) in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian troops, paramilitary, police and VDG [so-called Village Defence Guards] personnel along with surveillance equipment, including drones and sniffer dogs, continued the cordon and search operation on the 6th successive day today in different areas of Poonch, Rajouri and Doda districts.
The operations were launched after the attack on Indian Air Force convoy in which one soldier was killed and several others injured in Surankote area of Poonch district on Saturday.
According to the Indian officials, over two dozen persons have been detained for questioning and the authorities are reviewing some CCTV footage for leads.
On the other hand, the Indian troops also continued cordon and search operations in different areas of Udhampur and Kathua districts. The operations in the areas entered 12th day today.
Meanwhile, another cordon and search operation, which was launched by the Indian troops in Redwani area of Kulgam, continued for the third consecutive day today. Three youths were martyred and several houses destroyed through use of chemical substance by the troops in the area of Tuesday.
