Rally in Muzaffarabad to honour Kashmiri martyred leaders
Muzaffarabad: The martyrdom anniversaries of Shaheed Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Farooq and Shaheed Abdul Ghani Lone were marked with a large rally organized by Pasban Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, raising slogans in favor of freedom and paying homage to Mirwaiz Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the martyrs of Hawal, a large number of people from all walks of life participated in the rally. The rally commenced from the district complex to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk, with participants carrying banners displaying images of the martyrs.
Led by Pasban Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali and other prominent leaders, the rally highlighted the sacrifices made by these freedom leaders for the political, religious, and social rights of the Kashmiri people.
Speakers at the rally recounted the brutal killings by Indian forces on May 21, 1990, and May 21, 2002, and reaffirmed the commitment to continue the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom and honor the martyrs’ sacrifices.
Others who attended the rally include Shaukat Javed Mir, Advocate Shaiq Gilani, Usman Ali Hashim, Iqbal Yasin Awan, Bilal Ahmed Farooqui, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Sar Anaz Mir, Muhammad Akhtar Khan, Syed Mehmood Shah, Faisal Farooq Sheikh and Dr. Muhammad Manzoor.
