Rajouri and Poonch Resemble War Zone Ahead of Sham Elections
Srinagar: As the sham Indian parliamentary elections for the Islamabad-Rajouri constituency approach on May 25, Rajouri and Poonch districts are witnessing intensified measures in the name of security, making the area resemble a war zone more than an election ground.
According to Kashmir Media Service, widespread surveillance and search operations are underway across the districts. Authorities have implemented stringent measures, including increased patrols, additional checkpoints, and a robust deployment of forces in both urban and rural areas.
“Additional companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure safety during the elections. Special attention is being given to securing polling stations and ensuring the safe movement of election staff and voters,” officials stated, highlighting the military-style precision and preparedness in the operation.
Enhanced deployment in the hinterlands of Rajouri and Poonch further reinforces the extensive security maneuvers typical of military operations.
