Former Malegaon Mayor Abdul Malik Shot At In Nashik
Nashik: Two people on a motorbike allegedly shot at former Malegaon mayor Abdul Malik near a petrol station in Maharashtra’s Nashik district early Monday morning, a police official reported.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdul Malik in the attack sustained injuries and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.
The incident occurred at 1:20 am while Malik was sitting outside a shop on Old Agra Road, according to a Malegaon city police official.
The two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorbike and allegedly fired three shots at Malik, hitting him in the chest and leg. He was shifted to a hospital where he is recovering, the police said.
A case has been registered against the unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 307 (attempt to murder). The investigation is ongoing, the official added.
