Youth drowns while bathing in Jhelum River in Bandipora
Srinagar: An 18-year-old youth drowned in the Jhelum River in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth drowned while bathing in the Jhelum River in the Sumbal area of Bandipora.
Local people attempted to rescue him, but it took time to retrieve his body.
He was taken to the nearby Community Health Centre, Sumbal, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Wani, son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Inderkoot, Sumbal.
