Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter has said that on the occasion of the 56th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, India’s usurpation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and the plight of Kashmiri detainees will be highlighted.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmad, while speaking to journalists before leaving for Geneva, today, said the international organization will be informed about the atrocities being committed on Kashmiris lodged in different jails of India and the occupied territory.

He said India has usurped the rights of Kashmiri political detainees and denied them medical treatment and other facilities. He said India has also violated international laws regarding political prisoners.

He also demanded Immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Qasim Fakhtoo, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmeeda Sufi and Pir Saifullah and Zafar Akbar Butt languishing in jails of India and the territory.
