No development work for Muslims, Yadav community in constituency: Indian MP
New Delhi: A newly elected Parliamentarian of Janata Dal (United) from Sitamarhi constituency of Bihar, Devesh Chandra Thakur has revealed that he will not take into hand any development work for Muslims as well as Yadav community in the constituency as he was of the view that they did not vote for him in the recently held 2024 Polls.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an Indian media report stated that while addressing a function in Sitamarhi, Thakur said that Yadav and Muslims did not vote for him in the election.
Thakur had defeated RJD’s Arjun Rai from Sitamarhi parliamentary constituency who belongs to the Yadav community.
He said Muslims and Yadavs are welcome if they come here. Drink tea, eat sweets. But don’t expect any help, I won’t do anything for them. Speaking to reporters later, Thakur said, “I stand by what I said.” I have been saying this for some time. Thakur told to Indian media that if Muslims and Yadavs did not vote for arrow (JDU’s election symbol) only because they saw Narendra Modi’s face when they saw our election symbol.
When someone from these communities comes to me, I can see Lalu Prasad’s face and the lantern (RJD’s election symbol) on their face, clapping with both hands. The statement of Thakur, who recently resigned from the post of Bihar Legislative Council Chairman, was not only heavily criticized by the rival RJD, but his own party’s MP also demanded an apology.
