Anti-India protest rally organized by APHC-AJK in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a protest rally in Muzaffarabad on the ‘International Day in Support of Victims of Torture’, highlighting the increasing atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally was led by APHC-AJK convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi. A large number of people participated in the rally, demanding that the international community take notice of the worsening human rights situation in IIOJK.

Addressing the participants of the rally, the speakers highlighted the severe human rights abuses perpetrated by Indian troops in IIOJK. They emphasized that the Indian military has surpassed all previous records of barbarism, unleashing a reign of terror in the occupied territory and depriving Kashmiris of their inalienable right to self-determination.

The speakers condemned the incarceration and torture of innocent Kashmiris, asserting that physical and mental violence is being used as a weapon to suppress the freedom movement. They added that this series of atrocities on the Kashmiris has been going on since 1947, but the Modi government has accelerated this process of oppression and tyranny and it is not only killings and arresting Kashmiris but also subjecting them to extreme violence.

Despite these challenges, the speakers said, the morale of Kashmiris remains high, and they are determined to carry their just movement to its logical end.

The speakers urged the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international rights organizations to play a role in resolving the Kashmir conflict to ensure lasting peace and security in South Asia.

The rally concluded at the United Nations Observers Office Mission in Muzaffarabad, where a memorandum was presented to UN Observers demanding of the UN Secretary General to play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute and securing the release of detained Kashmiris.

Leaders of various political and religious parties, as well as a large number of youth, participated in the rally. The participants shouted slogans against the ongoing Indian atrocities in the occupied territory and in favor of freedom.
