Mysterious fire guts five Muslim-owned shops in Kishtwar

Jammu: Five shops owned by a Muslim family were destroyed in a mysterious fire in the Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the fire broke out last night in the Piyas Nagseni area of the district, gutting five shops belonging to Talib Hussain. The blaze completely destroyed property worth lakhs, although no loss of life or injuries were reported.

Local residents talking to media men expressed concerns over the incident, saying there is a communal agenda behind such incidents and that it is aimed at weakening the Muslim community’s economy. They highlighted the presence of Indian forces’ camps throughout the district and questioned how such incidents could occur amidst heavy patrolling by the troops.

“The way properties are being damaged under the BJP regime seems to be part of a broader strategy to target the Muslim community,” the residents said.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway, according to Indian police. The incident has raised serious concerns among the local population, who are calling for a thorough and impartial investigation.
