Killer gang VDG member opens fire, sparks fear in Rajouri
Jammu: A member of the Indian army-raised killer gang, the Village Defence Guard (VDG), opened fire, causing panic in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the VDG member fired shots from his weapon in the Jamola area of the district, heightening fear and tension among local residents. Pertinently, the VDGs, composed largely of Hindutva activist, have been raised to target pro-freedom people and intimidate the Muslim populace, particularly in the hilly districts of Jammu region.
Following the incident, Indian troops launched a search operation in the area, which was going on till last reports came in.
Meanwhile, the personnel of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) also conducted searches after a person was sighted walking in his agricultural field in the Hiranagar area of Kathua district.
