Protests erupt in Karnah, Kupwara against authorities’ apathy
Srinagar: People took to streets in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against anti-people policies of the Modi-installed regime in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, residents of Tangdar in Karnah area of the district came out of their houses to protest against the deplorable condition of the roads and lack of other basic amenities. The roads have been plagued by deep potholes, sand accumulation, dust, and the absence of protective walls, posing serious safety hazards, resulting in traffic accidents every now and then.
The locals, voicing their frustration, have demanded immediate blacktopping of the roads and the construction of protective walls to prevent further loss of lives in accidents. The protesters highlighted that the lack of proper maintenance has made the roads almost untraversable in the district, significantly impacting their daily lives and economic activities.
