Crackdown on Islamic madaris by BJP regime, Plans to close over 8000 Madaris in UP, MP Assam

New Delhi: The Hindutva regime of Bharatiya Janata Party has kick started the crackdown against Madaris (Religious schools of Muslims) in Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Assam,.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Yogi Adityanath government of BJP in Uttar Pradesh has decided to close more than 8,000 Islamic madaris, including Dar Uloom Deoband, the institution working from more than 160 years.

The scholars, management of the madaris and students have expressed their grief against this decision of the Indian government.

The Yogi government has issued an order to close the world-renowned Madaris including Darul Uloom Deoband, Darul Uloom Naduatul Ulama Lucknow, Jamia Salafia Benares, Jamia Ashrafia Mubarakpur, Jamia Al Falah Balriaganj and Madrasasul Islah Sarai.

The BJP regime of Madhya Pradesh has ordered the closure of 56 madaris in Shivpur district.

Earlier it had stopped the aid given to these madaris and now has issued an order to officially close them down. Similarly, the BJP government of Assam had converted 1281 madaris in the state into Middle English schools in December last year.

The government has converted all government and government-aided madaris into general schools in the state. The action against the madaris is being expressed by Muslim organizations as height of repression by Indian Government and its states.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board, a united platform of Muslims, strongly protested against the order to close the madaris. It has been announced to move Indian courts against BJP regime’s orders.
