Pakistan calls on India to reverse August 5, 2019 illegal, unilateral actions in IIOJK
Islamabad: Pakistan has once again urged India to revoke its illegal and unilateral actions taken on August 5, 2019, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during her weekly press briefing, today, called on India to create a conducive environment for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
She stated that next Monday marks the fifth anniversary of a dark day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. She said that on August 5, 2019, India illegally and unilaterally revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370, undermining the rights of the Kashmiri people. She further emphasized that this illegal action and subsequent steps taken by the Indian occupation regime were driven by a sinister plan to convert Kashmiris into a disempowered minority in their own land; and to alter the demographic structure of IIOJK in violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
The Foreign Office spokesperson reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral support to their Kashmiri brethren for a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.
