Peace in South Asia hinges on Kashmir resolution: Speaker Ayaz Sadiq
Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has that peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and UN resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sadiq expressed these views during a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam in Islamabad, today. He He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to raising the Kashmir issue at every regional and international forum.
Sadiq reiterated that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and UN resolutions is inevitable. He said that illegal and unilateral action of August 5, 2019 was part of a “heinous conspiracy” by India to undermine the rights of Kashmiris. He affirmed that Pakistan would continue to provide parliamentary, diplomatic, moral, and political support for the Kashmiris’ cause.
The meeting also discussed various matters of mutual interest, including the observance of Kashmir Exploitation Day on August 5. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam informed the Speaker about the solidarity walk planned from Radio Pakistan to D-Chowk in Islamabad and other initiatives regarding Kashmir Exploitation Day. They also discussed the proposal to bring a resolution in the House on this occasion.
