Praises Shehbaz's firm stance on right to self-determination for Kashmiris
Islamabad: Sikh for Justice (SFJ) leader Gurpatwant Singh has congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Pakistan’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a letter to the Prime Minister, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, General Counsel of the Sikh organization “Sikhs for Justice,” described Pakistan’s election to the Security Council as a significant achievement. He said this victory reflects Pakistan’s strong commitment to peace, justice, and the principles of the UN Charter.
He further stated that this success marks an important milestone in international politics, highlighting Pakistan’s determination towards security and global cooperation.
Gurpatwant Singh praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s firm stance on the right to self-determination for Kashmiris, stating that “your recent statement supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination is timely and commendable.” He added that Pakistan’s position on Kashmir could serve as an example in supporting the democratic struggle for the Sikh community’s right to self-determination in Khalistan.
The SFJ leader emphasized that supporting the right of Kashmiris to self-determination reminds the international community of the moral and legal significance of struggles for freedom and justice by oppressed nations.
Gurpatwant Singh also urged Pakistan to consider supporting the Sikh community’s own self-determination struggle. He noted that Pakistan’s leadership, through its position on the Security Council, could potentially pave the way for approving key resolutions on global issues.
In his letter, Gurpatwant Singh highlighted that the separatist organization “Sikhs for Justice” recognizes the importance of Pakistan’s enhanced international stature and its ability to influence global matters.
