APHC-AJK delegation meets PTI leaders in Islamabad

Safi calls on Kashmir Affairs Minister Amir Muqam

Islamabad: A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi visited the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) office in Islamabad, where they met with PTI leaders, including former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Abdul Qayyum Niazi and former Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Khaleed Khurshid.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation was warmly received by PTI leaders. During the meeting, Safi emphasized the importance of patience and perseverance in the face of challenges, citing the Kashmir issue as a prime example. He condemned India’s revocation of Article 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019, as a violation of international law and the UN charter.

PTI leaders expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and vowed to support their right to self-determination, condemning India’s atrocities and human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The PTI leadership assured the APHC delegation that Pakistan and its people stand with them in their struggle for freedom.

Besides Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the APHC-AJK delegation comprised Parvez Ahmad Advocate, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Ejaz Rahmani, Raja Khadim Hussain, Sheikh Abdul Mutain, Hasan Al-Bana, Abdul Hameed Lone, Muhammad Ashraf Dar and Zahid Mushtaq.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Affairs Minister Amir Muqam and APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi addressed a press conference in connection with the Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir. Amir Muqam reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s freedom struggle. He announced that a resolution will be tabled in parliament on the day and programs will be held at embassies worldwide to mark the day. He said that a walk is scheduled for 8 pm, and invited leaders of all political parties to join it. Amir Muqam and Safi appealed to Islamic countries and human rights organizations to take action against atrocities in Palestine and Kashmir, warning that India aims to change Kashmir’s Muslim identity, fearing Kashmiris will side with Pakistan during a referendum.
