Sheikh Abdul Aziz remembered on his martyrdom anniversary


Muzaffarabad: Hurriyat activists have paid rich tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz, former Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League and prominent Hurriyat leader on his 16th martyrdom ceremony held in Manak Pathyan Muhajir camp, Muzaffarabad.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Abdul Aziz was martyred by Indian forces’ personnel on this day in 2008 in the Uri area of Baramulla district when he was leading a mammoth march to Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindutva BJP-RSS extremists in Jammu.

Remembering the matchless services and sacrifices of the martyred Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, they said that he was a true legend and dauntless patriot who sacrificed his life for the sacred cause of Kashmir.

The Hurriyat activists said that Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a born fighter who would love to dice with death showing no sign of fear or vacillation whatever while encountering it.

They reiterated that the people of Kashmir would keep fighting the occupier tooth and nail with an unflinching resolve and ultimately, prevail making India submit and restore their birthright to self-determination as guaranteed to them by the International community through the relevant UNSC resolutions.
