BJP leader Vikram Saini calls for arms against Muslims
Lunknow: BJP leader Vikram Saini has ignited widespread outrage with his incendiary hate speech, calling for Hindus to prepare for self-defence against Muslims by arming themselves with sticks and stones.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the controversial speech, delivered during an event organized by the Hindutva group, United Hindu Front, to mark the first anniversary of the Ram temple ceremony in Ayodhya, has drawn sharp criticism from across the country.
Saini, notorious for his anti-Muslim remarks, used the occasion to make provocative statements that have sparked fears of further religious polarization. Speaking to the gathered crowd, Saini asked Hindu shopkeepers to avoid hiring Muslim workers, suggesting they pay Hindu employees more, even at the cost of higher wages. He urged shopkeepers to keep four spade sticks and two boxes of stones at their establishments.
Saini referred to Muslims derogatorily and making inflammatory comments about Muslims. He asserted that Pakistan belongs to Muslims, and Hindustan belongs to Hindus. His call for Hindus to be ready to defend themselves with sticks.
The comments have sparked fierce criticism from political leaders, human rights groups, and community activists. Many are calling for immediate action against Saini, calling him of spreading hate and deepening religious divides. Several groups have demanded the government take strong action to prevent such rhetoric from fostering violence and communal tension.
The incident highlights the alarming rise of divisive, hate-fueled rhetoric in India, where such remarks are becoming disturbingly common. Critics warn that this kind of language endangers communal harmony.
