APHC leaders felicitate Pakistanis on their Independence Day

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has felicitated the people and the Government of Pakistan on the eve of their Independence Day, to be observed on Wednesday, August 14.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that India has no right to celebrate its Independence Day as it has illegally occupied the land of Jammu and Kashmir. He deplored that all basic human rights and civil liberties have been ruthlessly snatched by India in the occupied territory.

APHC leaders, including Fazle Haq Qureshi, jailed Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui, jailed Moulvi Bashir Irfani, jailed Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Hafza Bano, Farida Behanji, Yasmeen Raja, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Muhammad Aqib, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Maulana Syed Sibte Shabbir Qumi, Ghulam Nabi War, Javed Ahmad Mir, Merajudin Shaikh and Devinder Singh Behl, in their statements in Srinagar, said that Pakistan is the center of hope not only for the Muslims of South Asia but also for the entire Muslim Ummah. They prayed for peace, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan.

They said that the creation of Pakistan was an extraordinary favor from Allah Almighty bestowed upon the Muslims of the subcontinent. They expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause. They emphasized that durable peace cannot be established in South Asia without settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and the UN resolutions.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK conveners, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmad Shah and other leaders including Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Altaf Hussain Wani, Shameem Shawl, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Ijaz Rahmani, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Haji Muhammad Sultan, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Ashraf Dar and Syed Gulshan Ahmed, in their separate statements issued in Islamabad, said that the hearts of the Kashmiri people beat with the hearts of the Pakistani people, and no power in the world can end this eternal relationship.

They said, “August 14, 1947, is a historical day when Pakistan was created, and India was divided on the concept of the Two Nations Theory to grant the Muslims of South Asia an independent and sovereign state.” They hoped that, like in the past, Pakistan would continue its support to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on political and diplomatic levels. They said that the dream of a vibrant, stable, and prosperous Pakistan would remain elusive unless Kashmir was freed from Indian bondage”.
