Hearts of Pakistanis beat with Kashmiris: Siraj

Leaders from Pakistan, Azad Kashmir address seminar on Gilani

Islamabad: Former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, said that the hearts of Pakistanis beat with the Kashmiris, and we cannot forget them for a moment. He said that Syed Ali Gilani was a symbol of the freedom struggle, who fought for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation and the completion of Pakistan throughout his life.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Kashmir Liberation Cell on the death anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani, the leader of the freedom movement, at the Kashmir House in Islamabad.

Sirajul Haq said that Syed Ali Gilani had a clear and straightforward stance. He never spoke on the basis of color and race. He was a teacher, a politician, and a preacher. Sirajul Haq said that Syed Ali Gilani wanted to see a strong and stable Pakistan. His famous slogan “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours” reflects his ideology and thinking. He remained attached to the mission of freedom struggle until his last breath.

The seminar was also addressed by Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Qasim Noon, veteran political leader Raja Zafarul Haq, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, Dr. Muhammad Hussain, Senator Sahar Kamran, former convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, former convener of the Hurriyat Conference, Azad Kashmir, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Feiz Naqshbandi, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Altaf Hussain Wani, Shamin Shawl, Javed Jahangir, Farzana Yaqoob, Abdullah Gul, Raja Khan Afser, Najeeb al-Ghafour, Sheikh Abdul Muttalib, and others.

Rana Qasim Noon said in his address that Syed Ali Geelani was the leader of the freedom movement in Kashmir. We salute his great struggle and sacrifices. He said that Pakistan has always supported the Kashmiris politically, diplomatically, and morally. Kashmir is a part of Pakistan, and we cannot ignore it at any moment.

Other speakers, including Raja Zafarul Haq, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Senator Sahar Kamran, Dr. Muhammad Hussain, and others, also paid tribute to Syed Ali Geelani and vowed to continue his mission of freedom struggle.
