Rallies held in AJK to pay tributes to Gilani

Muzaffarabad: Anti-India rallies were held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to pay tributes to veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani on his third martyrdom anniversary, today.According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani passed away on September 1, 2021, while under house arrest at his residence in Srinagar, where he had been confined for over a decade.
Pasban-e-Hurriyat organized a protest rally in Muzaffarabad in which a large number of people from all segments of society participated. The rally was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Shaukat Javed Mir, Mushtaq ul Islam ,Raja Aftab Ahmad Khan, Raja Muhammad Arif Khanand others. The participants of the rally carried banners on which pictures of Syed Ali Shah Gilani and his sayings were written. Speakers addressing the rally said that Syed Ali Gilani was the founding leader of the Kashmir freedom movement in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They said that Gilani spent a large part of his life in the freedom struggle and fought an unprecedented struggle for the basic right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people. They maintained that Gilani even reached the remote areas of Kashmir and Jammu and organized the resistance movement. They said that Shaheed Gilani always taught respect for people of all religions in the occupied state. The protesters demanded of the UNSC and other international organizations to play their role for the solution of the Kashmir lingering dispute according to wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The students wing of Tehreek-e-Shababul Muslimeen Jammu Kashmir also organised a rally at Alambardar Chowk, Muzaffarabad under the leadership of Tehreek Shabab Muslim Students Wing Riaz Ahmed Awan. Among others who participated in the rally include Ashfaq Ahmad Zengiri, Siddique Dawood Nasir Khattak, Inayatullah Qureshi and Sardar Muhammad Ramadan Advocate.

The speakers on the occasion paid rich tributes to Syed Ali Gilani for his unparalleled and unprecedented sacrifices while leading the Kashmir freedom movement. They said that Syed Ali Gilani was a symbol of Kashmir’s freedom movement who remained steadfast throughout his life for the Kashmir cause

Another rally was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement at Mang Bajri in Bagh Azad Jammu Kashmir to pay tribute to Syed Ali Geelani, the martyred leader of the freedom movement. The rally was led by Qazi Imran, Vice Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, Abdul Ghani Lone, patron of Pir Panjal Freedom Movement, and Chaudhry Mukhtar, patron of Pir Panjal Freedom Movement Muhajir Camp Mang Bajri. Speakers on the occasion vowed to continue the mission of the martyrs until the last Indian soldier is present in our occupied state of Jammu Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani’s legacy was celebrated with reverence at a youth conference held on Sunday at Khan Muhammad Khan Post Graduate College for Boys, Pallandri. The event organized by the Institute of Multi-Track Dialogue, Diplomacy, and Development Studies with young participants who gathered to honor the life and enduring impact of one of Kashmirs most influential leaders.

The conference began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, setting a solemn tone for the proceedings. Marking the anniversary of his passing, the event aimed to reflect on Syed Ali Gilani’s relentless struggle for justice, his efforts to unite people across diverse backgrounds, and the lasting inspiration he provided to the youth.
Distinguished speakers addressed the audience, each highlighting different facets of Gilani’s life.

Nimra Maqsood, a research scholar, emphasized Gilanis unwavering commitment to the Kashmir cause, underscoring his leadership in the resistance movement and his visionary efforts to foster unity among the people. Professor Masood provided a historical overview of Gilanis deep involvement in Kashmirs political landscape. He spoke of Gilani’s significant contributions to education and intellectual development, which he used as tools of resistance, and his unique leadership style that combined strength with compassion. Arshad Nadeem, a social activist, focused on Gilani’s grassroots mobilization efforts and his passionate advocacy for human rights. Nadeem discussed how Gilanis ideology continues to resonate with the youth, inspiring them to engage in social and political activism. Professor Nouman Siddiqui explored the philosophical underpinnings of Gilanis resistance, delving into his contributions to political thought and his enduring message of perseverance in the face of adversity. Justice Hameed addressed the legal challenges Gilani faced throughout his life, his dedication to strengthening local institutions against external pressures, and his lasting legacy in the realm of law and justice. As the conference commemorated Syed Ali Gilani’s death anniversary, it provided a platform for the youth to gain a deeper understanding of his extraordinary life and his influence on Kashmirs ongoing struggle for self-determination and unity.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to the principles Gilani championed, leaving the audience deeply inspired by his legacy of leadership, resistance, and unwavering dedication to justice.
