Modi grilled for visiting mosques abroad amidst attacks on Muslims in India

New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has faced criticism for visiting mosques in Gulf countries while being accused of supporting those who incite violence against Muslims in India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the criticism comes after Nitesh Rane, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Maharashtra, threatened to kill Muslims if they are found in mosques.

Rane’s comments, made during public rallies in his state, have been widely condemned by political leaders and journalists.

Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy chief minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accused Modi of double standards, saying that he visits mosques abroad while supporting those who incite violence against Muslims in India.

Prominent journalist and anchor Rajdeep Sardesai described Rane’s remarks as “brazen hate” and “incitement to violence,” and called for him to be jailed.
