Jammu daily wagers protest in favour of demands
Jammu: Over 60,000 daily wagers in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir took to the streets, demanding regularisation of their employment status.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest, led by the Employees United Front, urged the newly administration, headed by Omar Abdullah, to fulfill its promise of regularisation.
Hoshiar Singh, a senior member of the front, expressed cautioned that agitation would resume if their demands were ignored. “We’ve struggled for 30 years with meager pay, and it’s time for change,” Singh said.
The protesters criticized New Delhi-installed previous setup for neglecting their demands, despite repeated assurances.
