BJP using Article 370 to win elections: Farooq Abdullah
Jammu: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using Article 370 to weaken the Congress and secure victories in the upcoming elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah speaking to media during a private function in Jammu asserted that they would not allow the Congress to be weakened and expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc would emerge victorious.
Abdullah dismissed recent Congress statements downplaying the restoration of Article 370 in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir resolution, attributing them to the BJP’s ongoing electoral tactics. He emphasized that the BJP’s goal was to attack the Congress to win elections.
On the issue of IIOJK’s statehood, Abdullah reaffirmed that it would be restored, stating that their manifesto was clear and they were following it. He criticized the Modi regime’s response to the resolution passed in the IIOJK assembly.
