Shortage of life-saving drugs irks patients in IIOJK
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have failed to ensure timely procurement of life-saving anti-hemophilia drugs for the SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Hemophilia Day Care Centre at the hospital is facing critical shortages of Factor-8 and Factor-9 drugs, essential for hemophilia patients, with stocks set to deplete soon.
Syed Majid, President of the Hemophilia Society of Kashmir, blamed the authorities for their lack of action, highlighting the increasing number of hemophilia patients. He emphasized that the authorities’ inaction is putting patients’ lives at risk.
Doctors at SMHS warned that without these medications, hemophilia patients could suffer life-threatening consequences. GMC Srinagar has been waiting for buffer stock since September, but procurement remains delayed.
