BJP govt not allowing him to visit violence-hit UP: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: Senior leader of Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, has strongly criticized the Modi government, for preventing him from visiting Sambhal Uttar Pradesh, where police had killed six Muslims during a controversial survey of Mughal-era Jamia Masjid.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement, Rahul Gandhi emphasized that as the Leader of the Opposition, it is his constitutional right to meet the families of Muslims who were killed in police firing. He said that despite this, the BJP government has not even allowed him to visit the district alone.
He reiterated that he would continue to fight for the protection of the Constitution. He stated, “This is the new India of Narendra Modi, where the Constitution is being dismantled, but we will continue to fight.”
