Protest erupts in Baramulla over acute water shortage
Srinagar: Residents of Wanigam Payeen, Pattan, in Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir took to the streets, blocking roads to protest the unavailability of drinking water in the area.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest resulted in a complete blockage of Wanigam-Teligam road as locals expressed their frustration over the ongoing water shortage.
Residents reported facing water scarcity for the past several weeks. Despite the severe shortage, no official from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has visited the area to address the issue or provide assurances about restoring the water supply.
The residents are calling for urgent action, warning that if the water supply is not restored soon, the situation could escalate.
