Dalit man killed at police station in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: A 35-year-old Dalit man was killed at a police station in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Madhya Pradesh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the death of a 35-year-old Dalit man Mukesh Longre inside in the Satwas police station of Dewas district of the state triggered protests against killing of the victim.
The Congress slammed the Mohan Yadav-led BJP government for “jungle raj” in the state.
The relatives of victim called it the murderer in police custody.
Mukesh Longre died during an interrogation in Satwas police station after a complaint submitted against him by a woman on December 26.
There was no case against him, Judicial Magistrate First Class Nandani Uikey, who was conducting an inquiry into the death, visited the spot.
Meanwhile, four workers died after inhaling toxic fumes following a gas leak at a chemical plant at Dahej in Bharuch district of Gujarat state.
