Farooq Abdullah slams BJP for neglecting critical civic issues
Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party for indulging in rhetoric while neglecting critical civic issues confronting the Kashmiri people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah expressed these concerns during meetings with delegations from Poonch, Katra, Jammu Rural, and Kathua at his Bathindi residence in Jammu.
Highlighting the deteriorating state of civic infrastructure, Abdullah criticized the BJP-led Jammu Municipal Corporation for its ineffectiveness, particularly during the last monsoon season, when urban mismanagement caused significant public hardships. He emphasized the public’s growing frustration with the administration’s lackluster approach over the past decade.
In a related event, JKNC Additional General Secretary Ajay Kumar Sadhotra speaking at a public meeting in Bhagwati Nagar, criticized the BJP for stalling developmental progress and fostering religious and regional divisions. He specifically condemned the delays in the implementation of the much-hyped Smart City Project, calling it a failure that has disillusioned the public.
Senior JKNC leaders, including Abdul Ghani Malik, also warned against divisive forces threatening occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s social fabric.
