APHC reaffirms Kashmiris’ resolve to continue struggle until end of Indian occupation
India has no right to hold Republic Day celebrations in IIOJK
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ determination to continue their struggle until the complete end of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, the spokesperson for the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, stated in a statement in Srinagar that India has been occupying IIOJK for the past 77 years against the will of the Kashmiri people, solely through the use of military force, and its presence in the region is nothing but that of an aggressor. He said that Kashmiris have made invaluable sacrifices for freedom from India’s illegal occupation, and Indian atrocities have failed to suppress their spirit of liberation. The spokesperson emphasized that these sacrifices are a precious asset to the freedom movement and will not be allowed to go in vain.
He added that India should abandon its policy of suppressing Kashmiris by force and its unrealistic approach, and instead create a conducive environment for resolving the Kashmir dispute. He also pointed out that the dream of lasting development, peace, and security in the region cannot be realized without resolving the lingering dispute.
The APHC spokesperson also expressed serious concern over the increasing restrictions, sieges, search operations, and house raids in the occupied territory ahead of India’s Republic Day on January 26. He said the Indian forces have initiated a new campaign of harassment under the guise of so-called security measures.
He reiterated that India has no right to hold its Republic Day celebrations in the internationally recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The spokesperson urged the international human rights organizations to take notice of the growing Indian atrocities against Kashmiris.
