Protest against police over kidnapping, rape of minor girl
Jammu: People held a protest against the police for not taking proper action in the kidnapping and rape case of a minor girl in Kalakote, Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters blocked the Rajouri- Kalakote road and raised slogans against the police.
The family members, relatives and people from the area came out on the road and started a protest demonstration. They said that Dharamsala Police tried to hush up the case and favoured the involved party.
They pointed out that a minor girl of a village Syal Sui was kidnapped three days ago by a boy from another village of Kalakote. The relatives traced their location at their own and informed police. The police then recovered her from Pulwama in the Kashmir Valley and arrested the kidnapper.
The protesters levelled serious allegations against SHO Shabir Kohli and said that after kidnapping the minor, she was also raped and this was also confirmed in the medical examination, but despite that the SHO did not even apply POCSO Act on the kidnapper for kidnapping and raping the minor and entered mild sections to favour the accused party.
DSP of Kalakote Surinder Mohan reached the spot and tried to pacify the people, but they did not listen to the DSP and remained adamant on the demand of suspending the SHO.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Additional SP Vikram Kumar reached the spot and assured the people that action will be taken on all their demands and they will get justice in any case.
