Forest fire erupts in Sopore

Srinagar: A forest fire broke out in compartment 35 near the water supply scheme in Watlab, Sopore, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, locals from Kenusa and Rampora are working together to extinguish the blaze and prevent its spread.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and efforts are ongoing to contain it, according to officials.

There have been allegations of Indian army involvement in forest fire incidents, purportedly to flush out mujahideen. Also, the majority of forest fires in IIOJK are attributed to deliberate fires. Climate change and natural factors like lightning and volcanic eruptions also contribute to forest fires
