APHC-AJK, KLC organize ‘Kashmir Martyrs Conference’ in Islamabad
Kashmir Centre Lahore holds prayer ceremony for July 13 Martyrs

Islamabad: A “Kashmir Martyrs’ Conference” was organized on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs’ Day at Kashmir House in Islamabad, today,
According to Kashmir Media Service, the conference was jointly organised by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter and the Kashmir Liberation Cell.
The speakers addressing the conference paid rich tribute to all the martyrs of Kashmir, including 13th July 1931. They said that July 13, 1931 is a milestone in the Kashmir freedom struggle as the Kashmiri people raised their voices with courage and independence against the Dogra atrocities.
On this day In 1931, the Kashmiri people gathered outside the Srinagar Central Jail at the voice of Abdul Qadeer and 22 Kashmiri youths sacrificed themselves while giving the call for Zuhr prayers.
They said history can never forget the courage of these martyrs who completed the call to prayer. The speakers said even today the Kashmiri people are facing Indian oppression, oppression and restrictions. They said the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs are unforgettable. They said all the fundamental rights of Kashmiris, including political, social and religious, are being usurped.
The speakers said India has presented a wrong picture of occupied Jammu and Kashmir to the world. The presence of more than one million Indian soldiers in the occupied territory is a negation of freedom of expression, they lamented. They said women and young Kashmiris are being detained in jails but despite Indian atrocities, the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiri people has not weakened.
The speakers said, “After Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, our heads have risen with pride.” They said the sacrifices of the young generation have breathed new life into the freedom movement. They said they salute all the sacrifices made since 1931 till date.
They also paid tribute to the struggle of the Hurriyat leadership languishing in Indian jails and urged the government of Pakistan to take practical and diplomatic steps in support of the Kashmiri leadership.
Besides others, Gen (Retd) Zahid Mehmood, Sardar Usman Atiq, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Shamim Shawl, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Afsar Khan Afsar, Najeeb Ullah Ghafoor, Javed Ayub, AJK Minister, Taqdees Gilani, AJK Minister, Abid Abbasi, Abdul Hameed Lone, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Raja Khadim Hussain, Ajaz Rehmani, Imtiaz Wani, Javaid Iqbal, Ch Shaheen, Haji Sultan, Dawood Yousufzai, Adeel Wani, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Mian Muzaffar, Abdul Majeed Lone, Manzoor Ahmad Dar and Zahid Mujtaba participated in the function.
Meanwhile, a solemn prayer ceremony was held at Dargah Mosque, Bhag Ali Shah, under the auspices of the Kashmir Centre Lahore in connection with Kashmir Martyrs’ Day.
The event was attended and addressed by several prominent figures including APHC-AJK leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen, former adviser to the President of AJK Syed Naseebullah Gardezi, Maulana Shafi Josh, senior Pakistan People’s Party leader Ghulam Abbas Mir, Centre In-charge Inam-ul-Hassan, and senior lawyers and scholars including Syed Manzoor Gilani, Maqsood Chughtai, Qari Khalid Mahmood, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Qazi Anwar, and Maqbool Awan, among others.
Speakers paid glowing tribute to the 22 Kashmiri Muslims martyred on July 13, 1931, stating that their supreme sacrifice laid the foundation of the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement. They asserted that the struggle will continue until India ends its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer led by Maulana Shafi Josh, who prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the early liberation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
