APHC-AJK seminar in Islamabad condemns India’s rights violations in IIOJK

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell (JKLC), organized a seminar at Kashmir House, Islamabad, to highlight ongoing Indian aggression and systematic human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Gilgit-Baltistan’s Minister for Information, Iman Shah, attended the seminar as chief guest. The session was presided over by senior APHC-AJK leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani. Other prominent speakers included former Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Ali Raza Bukhari; Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir, Ghazala Habib; former Minister for Minorities, Naveed Jiwa and minority representative William Waseem.
Addressing the gathering, speakers strongly condemned India’s continued military occupation and state repression in IIOJK. They said that India’s celebration of Independence Day is hypocritical and unjustified, as it denies the people of Kashmir their inalienable right to self-determination and continues to impose draconian measures to stifle dissent.
They highlighted that the situation in occupied Kashmir is marked by grave human rights violations, including arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, custodial killings, restrictions on media, and suppression of peaceful political activity. The speakers stressed that the Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute, and the United Nations Security Council resolutions on the matter remain valid and binding.
Reaffirming solidarity with the people of IIOJK, the participants vowed to continue advocating for the Kashmir cause at national and international forums until the region is free from Indian occupation. They urged the global community, especially the UN, to take immediate and concrete steps to ensure the implementation of its resolutions and to hold India accountable for its actions.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to intensify diplomatic, political, and public awareness efforts to expose India’s human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir and to support the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for freedom.
